Heart Disease Risk Factors

According to the American Heart Association, more than 240,000 women die from heart disease each year — more than double the deaths from lung and breast cancer combined.

Knowing the risk factors is the first step in prevention. They include:
Age (Heart disease is the leading cause of death in women over 60.)

High cholesterol and blood pressure levels (Ask your doctor about screenings.)
A sedentary lifestyle (Exercise for a minimum of 30 minutes every other day or more.)

Diabetes
Heredity
Smoking (Smokers are four times more likely to have a heart attack.)
Obesity
