Guaranteed Perfection
Guarantees are hard to come by in this day and age, but at the One To One Personal Fitness facility, “Guaranteed Perfection” is their business. The company’s mission: “The perfect workout, each and every time, or you do not pay for it.” By guaranteeing the quality of each workout, according to president and owner Bill Livingston, the company has not only achieved success as a personal training facility, but “has obtained professional credibility needed to attract referrals from physicians, hospitals and HMOs.”
The Guaranteed Perfection program was created to give the facility “a system to consistently evaluate their personal trainers and their fitness protocol one workout session at a time,” explains Livingston. In addition, it provides clients with a checklist to measure the facility based on each workout.
The program utilizes a 12-point system of evaluation, which includes such factors as beginning each session on time, performing a warm-up, demanding strict adherence to proper form, not interrupting a training session except for emergencies, following personally prescribed routines, encouraging fluid intake and educating the client on at least one fitness or nutritional fact each session. If one of the 12 points are not met, the client is guaranteed his or her money back.
Even though some of these points are subjective, we trust our clients to judge our performance fairly.” An average of 1,600 personal training sessions are performed per month, says Livingston, with fewer than 10 rebates, most of which are given for starting sessions late.
“We believe that any guarantee in the fitness business is rare, especially personal training,” adds Livingston.
